NIGHTLIFE IN PUNTA CANA

If you are a night owl, get ready to enjoy the wonderful surprises Punta Cana has reserved for you. Whether you love a quiet evening, listening to live music or you prefer tempting your fortune in the gambling tables, Punta Cana has something for you.
Most hotels feature a different show or event in their bars or discos every night that will keep you awake until dawn. For those who prefer evenings with a more romantic touch, there are clubs as well as piano bars where you can spend a pleasant time without necessarily staying there until late.
The hotels with a casino often present a show in Las Vegas’ style, but the real hook of those places is gambling. Roulette, baccarat, blackjack and the slot machines are some of the ways in which your luck can be tested..
The entertainment nights organized by the hotels include interactive games in which the naive spectators soon become part of the spectacle. In addition, some hotels offer the opportunity to admire professional dancers performing some of the most traditional dances of Dominican Republic. Another amusement that is usually very popular among the guests is the magic night show, in which a magician performs magic tricks and illusions before an astonished audience.
One of the most popular night shows of Punta Cana is the show Tropicalisimo, which is performed in the casino of the Barcelo Bavaro hotel, mounted in the old Tropicana style of Cuba.
In this same complex, the Bavaro Disco is one of the most visited discos of the region, because of its excellent sound system and the music played that is more European than American. The decoration of the interior is black, with stars in the ceiling and a great amount of mirrors. The entrance is not restricted to guests of the hotel, but those who are not staying there must pay the entrance fee.
Mangu Disco, part of the Flamenco Grand hotel, boasts a giant screen that attracts a large crowd when there is a sport event, and an interesting mixture of tourists and locals meet here. The entrance is allowed to everybody (guests and not guests) but you are charged an admission fee, even if you are staying in the hotel. This place has two stories, on the second floor you can dance to the beats of international music, but for the Caribbean “sones” lovers, the ground floor is the best option. The entrance fee usually includes a national drink.
Other important discos, where the entrance to the public in general is allowed are Areito disco that is located in the Bavaro Princess hotel and Pacha disco, in the Riu where you won’t have to pay cover.
Those that long for a more authentic atmosphere should drop by the Plaza Bavaro, where they will find a series of small places basically dedicated to the local population. Here you will enjoy the true flavor of Dominican music and witness how the most popular rhythms in this island (merengue and bachata) are danced. El Rincon de la Salsa is a bar that specializes in salsa beats as its name indicates, without leaving out the merengue or the bachata. Another option in this same area is the Ressumen, where you can dance outdoors.
Coco’s is another alternative for those who look for night fun outside the hotel complexes; its decoration is modern and features ashtrays made with coconuts as a special touch. It has a large dance floor and the crowd usually consists of a mixture of 75% tourists and 25% locals. One of its biggest attractions is the beautiful open air terrace that seems to be an invitation to romance. It is necessary to cover the entrance fee, which includes a drink.
Huracan Cafe is a restaurant bar that thanks to its atmosphere and international music draws many tourists. It is a pleasant and amusing place, located on the beach border.
Enjoying a night of entertainment is a very important part of any vacation, and Punta Cana shines in this respect, offering something for all preferences. From calm evenings listening to tuneful notes of a piano, to flashy dances under the moonlight, there is an activity in Punta Cana to suit every mood.
